The International Consortium on Landslides (ICL) is an international non-governmental and non-profit scientific organization, established in January 2002 by universities, institutes, government organizations, academic societies and other entities worldwide.  The consortium aims to promote landslide research for the benefit of society and the environment, and capacity building, including education, notably in less developed countries.

The International Programme on Landslides (IPL), a program of the ICL for the International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (ISDR) was established by the 2006 Tokyo Action Plan. The IPL is managed by the Global Promotion Committee of IPL, which consists of all ICL members and ICL supporting organizations including the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR), the United Nations University (UNU), the International Council for Science (ICSU),  the World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO), the International Union of Geological Sciences (IUGS) and the International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics (IUGG) . The ICL proposed the ISDR-ICL Sendai Partnerships 2015-2025 for Global Promotion of Understanding and Reducing Landslide Disaster Risk. The proposal was officially accepted in March 2015 at the 3rd United Nations World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction in Sendai, Japan. The IPL activities conducted by ICL members are a voluntary commitment to the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030.
